What is the Working Principle of a Cold Roll Forming Machine?
📅 Apr 08, 2026 · Read Time: 1 min
A cold roll forming machine processes metal coils through room-temperature incremental bending. Metal strip passes through multiple roller stations, gradually shaping it into desired profiles without heating.
Working Process
1. Uncoiling & Leveling: Coil is unrolled and leveled to remove stress for stable input.
2. Progressive Forming: Strip passes through 10-30 roller stations. Each pair applies gradual bends to form complex profiles like purlins and solar racking.
3. Auxiliary Operations: Online punching, cutting, and straightening are integrated for one-pass production.
4. Precision Control: PLC system regulates speed and position, achieving ±0.5mm tolerance at up to 30 m/min.
